VITALink® 2 hour fire rated cable to be used on New Jersey Transit tunnel project
Daidone Electric of Newark N.J. has contracted with Rockbestos-Surprenant to purchase VITALink® RHW for it's $18.5 million tunnel ventilation project for New Jersey Transit. This project entails extensive ventilation upgrades to the existing Newark City Subway tunnel into Manhattan and is part of an overall $188 million modernization project. The ventilation upgrades include installing VITALink® RHW fire rated power cable for all emergency ventilation wiring thereby ensuring circuit integrity of at least 2 hours in the event of a fire in the tunnel. The VITALink® RHW 2 hour fire rated power cable proved to be the most cost effective solution to ensuring safety and reliability in this subway tunnel and is currently being specified in several other NYC area transit projects for emergency lighting and ventilation wiring.
